Edward Ram is running for school trustee in Port Coquitlam.

Edward Ram, a local businessman and owner of a Liberty Tax franchise who worked as a teacher for a number of years and was the vice-president of the District Parent Advisory Council for School District 43 for the past four years, hopes to bring some of his experience to the job of Port Coquitlam school trustee.

In a press release, Ram stated he wants to run for the trustee job because of concerns about SD43’s ranking as third lowest funded district in the province, his support for more transparency in SD43’s budget process, and how the recent Supreme Court ruling has impacted arts, music and daycare spaces in schools.

Ram also worked in various SD43 committees and attended board meetings regularly.

He has five children, who have attended schools since 1995, and currently has a child in Grade 11.

Ram can be reached at [email protected] or 604-588-8290.
