Coquitlam council candidate Darryl Stickler is blaming an “editing mistake” for incorrectly claiming he was a member of the executive for the Coquitlam Sports Centre Users Association (CSCUA) on his campaign website.

Instead, he said he attended a handful of CSCUA meetings in 2009 and 2010 as a representative of the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs lacrosse club.

“There was an editing mistake while compiling the website before the launch two weeks ago,” he wrote in an email responding to questions from The Tri-City News. “Thank you for bringing this to my attention and the mistake will be corrected on the website by tomorrow.”

The incorrect information was included in a Tri-City News brief about Stickler when he announced his candidacy last week.

After the article was published, a representative of the CSCUA told paper he had never sat on their executive and only attended a few meetings.
