#POMOvotes2018: No mayoral pick for firefighters

Port Moody firefighters are backing four candidates for city council — but none for mayor.

This week, Dave Piffer, president of IAFF local 2399, told The Tri-City News his group will not endorse either Mayor Mike Clay or Coun. Robert Vagramov, who is seeking the top job in the Oct. 20 election.

Still, it will throw its weight behind four council incumbents — all of whom are female: councillors Diana Dilworth, Barbara Junker, Meghan Lahti and Zoe Royer.

The endorsement lists for Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam firefighters have not yet been publicly disclosed.
