The Editor, Re. "Fire hall on front burner after controversial vote" (The Tri-City News, May 6). My husband is a 33-year veteran of the Port Moody Fire Department and was born and raised in the city.

Many people are concerned that radio frequencies emitted by cellphones, wireless technology and cellphone towers might cause cancer.

With just days away until The Oprah Show goes off the air (yes I love her and, for the record, left-brainers, I do realize she's not God), I feel sad to see her show end.

FACE TO FACE: Is Canada on the right track with its approach to foreign policy? Let's turn back the clock a few weeks and examine an important bit of Canadian political history that, in the excitement of the May 2 general election, was overlooked.

The Editor, Re. "Fire hall on front burner after controversial vote" (The Tri-City News, May 6). I would like to express my outrage at the way Port Moody city council has handled the Number 1 fire hall replacement issue.

The Editor, Re. "Canadians voted with their heads" (Face to Face, The Tri-City News, May 6). I think Face to Face columnist Terry O'Neill is putting too much faith in the Conservatives.

FACE TO FACE: Oh, about that federal election... On Monday, while I sat scrutineering in the gym at Moody middle school, Canadians elected a Conservative majority government and, more surprisingly, an NDP official opposition. Wow.
